Have you ever been handed a tool nobody asked you about?

Every educator I know has lived this rollout: a shiny platform appears in August, picked in an office you were never in, and by October it is gathering dust.

The NYC AI summit this week put a name on the alternative: innovation with schools, not around them. But that only happens when someone in the building is fluent enough to push back on a vendor with specifics.

So here is my question for the room: what is the one tool that got dropped on you without your input, and what would you have told the decision makers if they had asked you first? Names optional, lessons mandatory.
