Something worth sitting with this morning. At graduation ceremonies across the country, students are booing speakers who mention AI. Out loud. And the same students, by survey, are using AI in their coursework every week.
They fear it and they rely on it at the same time. I have started calling that space the Confidence Gap, the distance between how you feel about a tool and how you actually use it. A wide gap produces shallow, secret, low-confidence use. And it does not close with reassurance. It closes with small, deliberate practice.
Here is my question for the educators and professionals in here. Think about your own AI use, honestly. Where is the gap widest for you right now, in the feeling or in the skill? And what is one small win you could stack this week to start closing it?
