Quick one for the Monday brain trust:
Norman Eng published a Faculty Focus piece this morning offering four questions for deciding when AI belongs in a classroom:
- Does the AI help students use, recall, and demonstrate understanding of core content?
- Does it require students to apply learning to a new context?
- Does it support, not replace, independent reasoning?
- Does it preserve meaningful human interaction?
Of those four, which one would change the most about how you currently use AI if you were honest about whether it passed?
For me, question 3 is the toughest. It is easy to think a student is reasoning when really they are just dressing up the AI's reasoning in their own words.
Curious where everyone lands. Today's full breakdown plus the SeedStacking integration model: Norman Eng Just Gave Faculty the Right Questions About AI. Here Is What Comes After Yes.
