About Harvest Kernel

About Us

The tools arrived overnight. The guidance didn’t. Harvest Kernel bridges the gap between AI potential and real-world fluency.

We built the starting point that should have existed from day one.

The Problem

The AI Literacy Gap Is Real

Billions of dollars are being poured into AI tools. Almost nothing is being invested in helping everyday people actually use them.

Without Guidance

Overwhelmed by tools that change every week

Unsure if you’re “doing AI right”, or at all

Watching others pull ahead while you wait

Drowning in hype with no practical path forward

With Harvest Kernel

A clear framework that cuts through the noise

Small daily wins that build into real fluency

A community of people learning alongside you

Guidance from an educator, not a salesman

We don’t sell AI. We teach people how to think with it.

The Method

SeedStacking™

Four phases of small daily AI wins that compound into genuine fluency.

Not a course. Not a bootcamp. A way of learning that fits into the life you already have.

1

Plant

Try One Thing

Pick a single AI tool or prompt. Use it for something real in your day, a lesson, a task, a question. No pressure. Just plant the seed.

2

Cultivate

Stack What Works

Repeat what works. Refine what doesn’t. Share what you learn. Each small win stacks on the last, and the compound effect is where the real growth lives.

3

Harvest

Own the Skill

What started as a first prompt becomes a workflow. What started as curiosity becomes confidence. You don’t just use AI, you think with it.

EACH WIN BUILDS ON THE LAST

SeedStacking™ isn’t about mastering every tool. It’s a four-phase cycle, Seed, Sprout, Grow, Harvest, that builds the habit of learning through small daily wins until AI fluency is just part of how you work.

Plant Ideas. Cultivate Skills. Harvest Results.

The Founder

Professor Dean LeBlanc, Founder of Harvest Kernel

Dean LeBlanc

Founder, Harvest Kernel

Before I ever stepped into a classroom, I spent over 30 years in private industry, working inside world-class manufacturing companies where technology was never theoretical. It was the difference between shipping and not shipping. But the work that shaped me most was not the technology itself. It was the relentless pursuit of process improvement.

I studied the masters. W. Edwards Deming, who transformed Japanese manufacturing by proving that quality is a system, not an inspection. The Toyota Production System, which showed that small, continuous improvements compound into transformational results. Six Sigma, which taught me that you cannot improve what you do not measure and you cannot measure what you do not understand. These were not frameworks on a conference room wall. They were daily practice. I applied them to production lines, to team workflows, to my own thinking. And the core lesson never changed: understand the process first. Then, and only then, apply the tool.

That principle is exactly what most AI education gets wrong. The conversation starts with the tool. Which chatbot should I use? What prompt gets the best output? How do I automate this task? Those are real questions, but they skip the step that matters most. Before you inject technology into a workflow, you need to understand the workflow. Before you can improve a process with AI, you need to see the process clearly. That insight, born on manufacturing floors and refined over three decades, is the foundation SeedStacking™ was built on.

When I moved to higher education and saw AI reshaping everything around us, I watched two things happen at the same time. The tools became incredibly powerful. And the people who needed them most got left behind. Not because they could not learn. Because nobody was teaching it in a way that started with understanding, not just usage. That is why I built Harvest Kernel. Not to add more noise to an already overwhelming space. To give real people a structured path from overwhelm to competence, built by someone who has spent a career proving that the right process changes everything.

I believe the future belongs to those who combine timeless principles with new tools. Deming proved it in manufacturing. I am proving it in AI literacy. My goal is to give you the clarity, confidence, and community to make that future yours.

What We Believe

Our Core Values

1

Clarity Over Complexity

We explain AI with logic and simplicity so it becomes a tool, not a barrier. If you can’t explain it plainly, you don’t understand it well enough.

2

Learn By Doing

Every guide, workflow, and challenge is hands-on, practical, and immediately useful. Theory without practice is just trivia.

3

Built for Real People

Teachers, parents, professionals, we design for everyday life, not tech bubbles. You shouldn’t need a CS degree to benefit from AI.

4

Respect the Past, Build the Future

Traditional wisdom and modern AI aren’t enemies, they make each other stronger. The best innovations are built on foundations that have stood the test of time.

5

Community Matters

Learning accelerates when people share their growth and questions openly. The smartest person in the room is the room.

6

Integrity in Innovation

We chase progress, but never at the cost of honesty or quality. No hype. No shortcuts. No empty promises about what AI can or should do.
