Faculty Toolkit

The Harvest Kernel Faculty Toolkit

Your nights and weekends back.

A suite of thirteen AI tools built by a working instructor, for working instructors. Draft feedback, build rubrics, design whole courses, and answer the email that ate your Sunday. Instructors recapture 12 to 16 hours every week and give them back to the work that matters: their students. Keep your voice. Keep your standards. Just lose the busywork.

Built by faculty. FERPA-minded. Your content is never used to train AI. Cancel anytime.

Sound familiar?

You did not become an instructor to do this part.

The teaching is why you stayed. The busywork is what follows you home.

“It is 9:40 on a Sunday night and I am still writing feedback on the same stack I started Friday afternoon.”
“A student sent a three-paragraph email and I had to read it four times to figure out what he was actually asking me.”
“I just got assigned a new course for fall. Syllabus, outline, lessons, assessments. There goes the summer.”
“I know AI could help with some of this. I do not have time to test seventeen tools to find out which one.”

The part nobody says out loud

The busywork was never the teaching. It just came bundled with the job.

Building one new course from scratch takes a working instructor 80 to 120 hours. Grading feedback alone eats 4 or more hours a week, most of it typing sentences you have typed a hundred times before.

Generic AI cannot fix that, because generic AI does not know your course, your policies, or your voice. The Faculty Toolkit does. Every tool reads your Course Record, a five-minute profile of what you teach and how you sound, and drafts like a colleague who has sat in on your class all semester.

Find your starting point

The toolkit serves three kinds of instructors. Which one sounds like you?

I live in my inbox and my gradebook

Feedback, rubrics, discussion replies, announcements, and the emails that never stop. You need the communication set.

The transformation

Same instructor. Different week.

Before the toolkit

  • Sunday-night grading marathons
  • Blank-page dread on every new syllabus
  • One student email swallows half an hour
  • Course design eats the whole summer

After week one

  • Feedback drafted, in your voice, by Tuesday
  • A full course outline in an afternoon
  • Two-minute replies that still sound like you
  • The weekend is actually yours again

Each task takes about two minutes. The 12 to 16 hours a week they used to take are the point. Start the trial and test it on Monday’s inbox.

From the first live batches

Proof, the honest way.

You will not find rented testimonials on this page. These numbers come from the founder grading his own courses with the toolkit, documented batch by batch. The next quotes here will belong to founding members.

18
Essays in the first live grading batch. Every point proposed was cited to the student’s own words, and identical misses received identical deductions.
3 of 3
Hidden AI instructions that students embedded in their essays: all three caught, none obeyed, each one reported to the instructor.
0
Grades, replies, or messages ever sent without instructor approval. Not a promise, an architecture: nothing exports until you say so.

I built this because I am the person it is for. The first real batch I ran was eighteen essays I had already graded by hand. Sprout matched my calls at the top and the bottom of the stack, cited every point to the student’s own words, and caught three students trying to slip instructions to the AI inside their essays. It graded their actual work and told me what they tried. That was the moment I knew it was ready for other professors.

The newest hire in your department

Meet your teaching assistant.

The stack of 30 essays used to be your whole Sunday. Now it is fifteen minutes of review.

Name your TA. Give it a personality: rigor guardian, encouragement-first, or balanced. Then hand it the assignment zip straight out of Blackboard or Canvas.

Your TA grades every submission against your rubric, criterion by criterion, citing each student’s own words as evidence, and writes the feedback in your voice, because it learned your Teaching DNA first.

And grading was only the first hire. Your TA now drafts a week of discussion replies, chases missing work kindly, watches an early-alert radar for slipping students, doctors your rubrics, analyzes exams, builds each student a review packet, and hands you a grade-defense memo the moment a score is questioned. Every one of them proposed, never posted, until you approve.

Then it waits. Every score, every comment, sits in a review queue until you approve it. Adjust anything. Approve one by one or all at once. Export a Grade Center-ready file and a feedback bundle.

  • Rubric-anchored scores with evidence, not vibes
  • Your voice on every comment, via Teaching DNA
  • A second perspective: your TA flags borderline calls for your judgment
  • Review-first, always: nothing reaches a student without your approval
  • A full TA suite: discussion replies, missing-work chase, early-alert radar, exam analysis, review packets, grade-defense memos
  • Works with Blackboard and Canvas, no LMS integration required

You are still the professor. You just stopped being the typist.

The real harvest

Recapture 12 to 16 hours. Every single week.

The time was never lost. It was buried under busywork. Here is where it goes when you get it back.

Feedback while it still matters

Return richer feedback the same week, while the assignment is still alive in your students’ minds. That is when feedback changes trajectories.

Time for the student who needs you

The office-hours conversation that turns a semester around needs twenty unhurried minutes. Now you have them.

Courses that keep getting better

Redesign the unit you have been meaning to fix. Pilot the new project. Raise the bar a little more every term.

A professor at full strength

Rested instructors teach better. Presence, patience, and energy come back to the classroom when the busywork goes.

This was never about doing less for your students. It is about reclaiming the hours busywork stole, and spending them raising the standard of education your students experience.

Run your numbers

What is one hour of your time worth?

A full-time college faculty member averages about $106,000 in salary, and closer to $138,000 once benefits are counted. That is roughly $66 an hour of real compensation, and that is still the conservative math. Enter your own numbers and see what busywork is costing you, and what the toolkit hands back.

$

Assumes the toolkit recaptures about 80 percent of busywork time. A 30-minute task takes about 2 minutes. Hourly worth is figured conservatively at total compensation (salary plus benefits, with benefits at about 30 percent of salary) divided by 2,080 hours.

12.8
hours back every week
12
full workweeks back every year

Those hours are already being spent, every single week. The only question is whether busywork keeps them, or your students get them back. Start your 14-day free trial.

Thirteen tools. One voice. Yours.

Most AI gives you a chat box and wishes you luck. The toolkit gives you purpose-built tools that already know your course.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you start.

Is my content used to train AI models?

No. Your course materials, student data, and drafts stay yours. We do not train models on your content, and we hold our AI providers to the same restriction.

What counts as a “generation”?

One run of one tool. Drafting a feedback note is one generation. Building a full syllabus is one generation. Most instructors use a fraction of their monthly allowance.

What happens when my trial ends?

On day 15 your trial converts to the plan you chose at signup. You can change or cancel anytime before then in one click.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle.

Why is monthly more expensive per month than annual?

Monthly gives you full flexibility with no commitment past the current month. Annual is the better deal once the toolkit has earned its place in your week: it keeps over 3 months free every year. Start monthly and switch anytime; the upgrade takes one click.

Do you offer a discount for whole departments or schools?

Yes. Department and Institution are priced per seat with volume discounts: Department from $1,297/seat (3 seat minimum), Institution from $997/seat (25+). You pay only for the seats you use, and the per-seat price drops as you add more.

What if I need more than my monthly generations?

The Creator plan covers heavy individual use. If you are consistently hitting limits, the Department plan is unlimited per seat.

Is there a contract?

Monthly plans are month to month. Annual plans run a year. No long-term lock-in beyond the term you choose.

How do I get support?

Every plan includes support, and email goes straight to the founder. Department and Institution plans include priority and dedicated support.

Does the AI decide my students’ grades?

No. Your TA proposes a score against your rubric and shows its evidence. You review, adjust, and approve every single grade before anything is exported. The instructor of record stays the instructor of record.

Which LMS does the Grading Assistant work with?

Blackboard and Canvas, both today and both without IT approval. Upload the submissions zip exactly as your LMS gives it to you, and your TA detects which format it is. When you approve, export a gradebook-ready file back: Grade Center format for Blackboard, Grades import format for Canvas.

What counts as a “graded submission”?

One student’s work in one batch. One TA action is one student’s work in one pass: a graded submission, a drafted reply, or a nudge. The Professor’s TA plan includes about 1,000 TA actions a month, on top of everything in Creator.

Here’s what happens when you start your trial today…

I built this toolkit because I am the person it is for. I grade the stack. I answer the Sunday email. I got the new-course assignment that ate a summer. Every tool in here started as a real problem in my real classroom, and none of them shipped until they saved me time on an actual Monday.

Within a week, you will draft feedback that sounds like you, in minutes instead of hours. You will watch a syllabus assemble itself around your outcomes and your policies. And you will get an evening back that busywork had quietly taken from you.

The 12 to 16 hours you recapture every week go back where they always belonged: your students. Your standards stay. Your voice stays. The busywork goes.
