A Harvest Kernel working session
The Closed Book Ten
Twenty five minutes. You finish holding a written, ranked map of exactly what you do not know before your next exam. Not a summary. Not a checklist. Your own work, from your own memory, about your own test.
Nothing here is generated for you and nothing you type leaves this page. No account, no sign in, nothing saved. Close the tab and it is gone, so copy your work out at the end. This is the manual version, done by hand, on purpose. The difficulty is the part that works.
Name the exam
Be specific. A real course, a real date, a real unit. Vague in, vague out.
Write ten questions from memory
Books closed. Notes closed. Tabs closed. Write ten questions you think will be on it. Questions only, no answers yet. If you cannot reach ten, that is already your first finding and you should write down how far you got.

QUESTION 10
Answer them cold, then check
Answer all ten with everything still closed. Then, and only then, open the book and check each one. Mark it honestly. Half means you got the shape and missed the substance. Nobody sees this but you.
0 of 10 checked
Rank it and decide
Look at everything you marked Nothing or Half. Put them in order of how many points they are worth on this exam, not how interesting they are. Then commit to the top three.
That is your map. Now look at what it says.
You have three or four concepts you could not retrieve, and for each one you now need somebody to explain it a different way than the textbook explained it, ask you a question back, and catch you when your answer is close but wrong. Tonight. Probably late.
Everyone who could do that for you is asleep, and asking a chatbot to explain it is the smooth version that put you here in the first place. What you want is the opposite move: something that makes you explain it, then tells you what you left out.
That is the job the Study Coach does in the Student Toolkit. Its own description is one line: practice testing, spaced repetition, and the AI Study Partner Playbook. Start free, just your email, and find out whether being quizzed feels different from being told.
Take your work with you
Nothing is saved. Build the text, copy it, and paste it wherever your notes live.
