Your Time Audit: What an Hour of Your Life Is Actually Worth
Most people guard their money with budgets and alerts, then let their time leak out the bottom of the bucket. This worksheet fixes that. Four stacked steps to find your real hourly worth, see where the week actually goes, and hand the low value hours to AI on purpose. Work it top to bottom. Each phase builds on the last.
Find your real number
Write down what you earn in a typical week. Now list every hour work truly costs you, not just the paid ones: actual desk hours, commute, the after hours email, the Sunday dread. Total those real hours. Divide weekly earnings by real hours. That figure is your Real Hourly Worth. Circle it. Most people land about a third lower than they guessed.
Audit where the week goes
For two days, log your tasks in 30 minute blocks. Beside each one, mark a simple H or L. H means only you can do this at your real rate. L means it sits below your number and someone or something else could carry it. No judgment. Just data.
Tag the AI automatable
Take every L task and sort it into three buckets. Bucket 1: AI can draft it, like rough emails, summaries, first outlines, meeting notes. Bucket 2: a tool or template handles it, like scheduling, formatting, repetitive lookups. Bucket 3: a person should own it, not you. Pick your top three Bucket 1 tasks and write the exact prompt you would hand an AI to start each one.
Reclaim and reinvest on purpose
Add up the weekly hours your three automated tasks were eating. That is your reclaimed harvest. Now the part that matters: decide in advance exactly where those hours go. Deep work, a relationship, rest, your own learning. An hour saved without a plan is an hour lost. Share your reclaimed number and your reinvestment plan in the community so it becomes a commitment, not a wish.
